The restoration of heritage and archeology are two very specific areas which Stone Assistance has chosen to focus. Indeed, methods of characterization of geomaterials are particularly well suited. Stone assistance has already had the opportunity to offer its services on very concrete restoration projects.

Characterization of physical and mechanical properties of historic tiles taken from the roof of the Church of St. Eleftherios Esquelmes in Tournai, as part of the restoration work. The study helped save the tiles.

                             CHURCH OF SAINT-CHRISTOPHE DE RACOURT

The restoration project of the church of Saint-Christophe Racour is the first restoration site on which methodology Stone Assistance was implemented.

The study sought to characterize the original Lincent Tuffeau the monument, and to compare their properties with the Maastricht tufa stone and Savonnière suggested in the special specifications.

The study has shown an incompatibility of the proposed materials, the method was also used to select a substitute material compatible with the original limestone.

The consolidation treatments offered in the tender documents were also studied in the laboratory to evaluate the performance that would be achieved during the application on site.
